There’s not much to be said about being asked to illustrate something for HOW magazine, one of the premier graphic design and illustration magazines in the world, than it was a honor. The article was a point counterpoint about the benefits and drawbacks of crowd sourcing, titled “Designers Dilemma.” Thanks Bridgid! It was great working with you! My illustration advertising a gallery show about Mustaches took home a bronze medal in 3×3′s annual illustration competition. It’ll be an honor to be included in the same book as illustrators like Bill Mayer, Marc Burckhardt, and Nate Williams! Click through to see all the winners.
I love the illustrators Lou Simeone over at Illustration Pages has been
putting together for quite some time. So it was an honor to be included in
that bunch of talented illustrators. Thanks a million Lou!
Shaw Nielsen on Illustration Pages

I am going to be part of a gallery show this Friday from 6 to 10, that features the work of Dave DeVries’ Monster engine. The theme is the interpretation of children’s art and not knowing any kids myself I decided to revisit an often visited theme from my youth – robots – more specifically killer robots. I’ll be posting a photo of one of my old robots as soon as I can sneak it off of my mothers wall long enough to scan, until then enjoy this Shaw Nielsen Robot circa 2010.
