The final file was left layered so that the designer could pull out various elements of the map to feature as spot illustrations throughout the article.
Art With Heart Coloring Book
I recently had the pleasure of helping out the good people over at Art With Heart by donating these two illustration for a coloring book they’re putting together. The two pages I illustrated dealt with helping children overcome a loss by writing a poem and drawing an alter.

…An illustration about how as the economy here in the US continues to improve people are finding good deals on summer beach home rentals harder to find because everyone is swooping in and renting all of the houses early.

Washington Post Book World Illustrations

I was recently asked to illustrate the cover and an interior faux game board for this Sunday’s Washington Post Book World magazine. It was a delight working with everyone at the Washington Post and you can see some process sketches below.

This one for Baltimore Magazine is about several groups in the Baltimore area that have come together to help protect the bay and nearby watersheds.

This illustration for AARP magazine accompanies an article about new legislation that spells the beginning of the end for the incandescent bulb.
